Who we are
This website, https://eddiezar.com, is the official site of electronic music artist Eddie Zar and is operated by Eddie Zar, who is responsible for the personal data collected here. For any privacy question or request, email contact@eddiezar.com.
What we collect and why
Downloads and orders. When you buy merchandise or get a sound pack through our checkout, including free packs, we collect the contact and billing details requested by the form and the details of your order. For physical orders we also collect a shipping address. We use them to create your order, give you your download link and send your order confirmation email. We use WooCommerce to run the store.
Payments and fraud prevention. Paid orders are processed by WooPayments, which is provided by Automattic and uses Stripe. Your payment details go to them, not to us. If you choose WooPay, Affirm, Afterpay, Klarna, WeChat Pay or Amazon Pay at checkout, that provider also receives the information needed to process your payment. To prevent fraud, WooPayments loads a fraud-detection service (Sift) and its own usage tracking on store pages, which collect device, browser and browsing information. Free orders involve no payment.
Email updates (optional). At checkout you can choose the optional email-updates checkbox. We add you to our mailing list only if you tick it, and you do not need to tick it to get a download. The list is managed with MailPoet and stored on our website. We may send a confirmation email before your subscription starts. Every email has an unsubscribe link. MailPoet can record whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked, so we know what readers find useful.
Contact. If you email us or use a contact form on this site, we receive the information you send, such as your name, email address and message, and use it to reply.
Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect what you enter in the comment form along with your IP address and browser user agent. Comments may be checked for spam using automated tools. An anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to show your profile picture. See https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers log basic request data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to operate and secure the site.
Cookies
- Store cookies keep track of your cart and checkout session. The store does not work without them.
- WooCommerce order attribution records how you arrived at the site, such as the referring website or campaign tags in the link, and stores that with your order.
- On store pages, WooPayments, Sift and Stripe may set cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention.
- If you log in or leave a comment, WordPress may set cookies to remember your login or your comment details. You can manage cookies in your browser and use the privacy controls supplied by embedded and social services; blocking essential cookies may prevent cart or checkout features from working.
Embedded content
Pages on this site embed players from Spotify, YouTube and SoundCloud. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited those sites directly. They may collect data about you, set cookies and track your interaction with the embed, particularly if you are logged in to them. Their own privacy policies apply.
Who we share your data with
We use service providers to host the website, process payments, manage email, fulfill physical orders and measure website activity. These include our hosting provider, WooCommerce and WooPayments, Stripe, MailPoet, Jetpack and Printful. Printful receives the order details and recipient information needed to produce and ship merchandise. Embedded music and video services and connected social integrations can receive browser and interaction information under their own privacy policies. See Automattic’s privacy policy, Stripe’s privacy policy and Printful’s privacy policy.
Connected automation and social-publishing integrations, including Zapier and Blog2Social, may process website content and related information when an enabled workflow uses it. Contact us if you have questions about an integration or information associated with you.
Jetpack statistics and WooCommerce analytics can record visits, device information, referrals and store interactions. The Pinterest integration supports product catalogs and can process browsing or conversion information for measurement and advertising when those features are enabled. Embedded players may also use their own tracking technologies.
How long we keep your data
We keep order and support information as needed to provide downloads, fulfill purchases, maintain business records and meet applicable obligations. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails; some subscription or suppression information may be retained to respect that choice. You can contact us to request access, correction or deletion.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing contact@eddiezar.com. We may need to keep some information for legal, tax or security reasons. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
